Andy will provide a capsule history of analytics in the pharmaceutical industry, and discuss how recent research in analytics and OR methodology is being applied within the pharma industry, and more broadly within the health care sector.
Specific emphasis will be put on causal and contrafactual models, classification, and predictive modeling. Methodological approaches will be illustrated with case studies.
Andy Aiken has over 20 years experience conducting commercial analytics/OR and leading analytical groups, with 15 years of this experience in the pharmaceutical sector.
His roles at Pfizer, Eli Lilly, and as principal of a consulting firm serving the pharmaceutical industry, Andy has advised executive leadership on new product forecasts, managed markets and local markets strategy, marketing mix and resource optimization, research design, and sales force strategy. Andy served on the Board of Directors of the Pharmaceutical Management Science Association (PMSA) for seven years in all board roles, culminating in his election as President of the organization in April 2008.
Andy graduated with a Master's in Applied Mathematics from Indiana University in 1994. He has been a member of INFORMS since 1995.
